What ? You are ... By: foxx441. on 04 Jul 09, 03:43:16 What ? You are equating the resources available to a Westerner who wishes to learn the truth, to a North Korean ? Are you mentally defective ? What sort of "technological developments" do you suppose exist for a North Korean who's country is on the precipice of starvation ? Most of them would hardly have enough to eat, you moron. And you think they can freely access informtion in pursuit of truth ? You are truly a first-rate idiot. |
You can see from ... By: foxx441. on 04 Jul 09, 03:39:55 You can see from the points that I made that what you are dealing with in MercifulB is a product of a Soviet 'education' system that has warped his thinking towards the West. So that even now, MercifulB lives in the West ( Canada ), profits from it ( he says he owns a business ), and yet sees nothing wrong in hypocritically attacking the same system that gives him liberty, money and shelter ! He is a blinded ideologue and a waste of space. |
If the step were a ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 19:19:56 If the step were a small one there wouldn't be economic turmoil all over eastern Europe in the 1990's, change can happen but must be done slow, unlike how it progressed in eastern Europe due to bad decisions on the part of Yeltsin and Gorbachev. |
To pretty much all ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 19:18:01 To pretty much all extents, people are allowed to do what they want, within certain limits, yes, but those limits are logical, because some acts can be harmful to certain groups and people. |
The West may have ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 17:40:37 The West may have been founded on noble virtues, however to what extent does it currently withold or uphold these virtues? How much freedom does a person in the West truly have? Not very much, or the same as anyone else, depending upon which perspective is upheld.
I could write an essay about this however due to limits on the amount that can be written I will limit myself to these questions. |
In truth, the step ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 17:31:43 In truth, the step from Communism or Socialism to Democracy is not that large. If you study Anarchy, Democracy and Communism in great detail, one will observe that the systems are incredibly close, albeit hypothetically, so close in fact, that they can easily become one.
If a electoral government vote was implemented in the USSR, it would resemble America, especially since the societal development of both nations was equivalent. |
Indeed they have a ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 17:25:51 Indeed they have a right to learn the truth. But how difficult is it to learn or find the supporting evidence for truth, when a great deal of people believe the propaganda, and create opinions based upon it? Also, if a North Korean wishes to obtain information, they can without punishment, due to technological developments. |
'The west', was at ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 12:11:55 'The west', was at every point in it's history, financially, economically, politically and based on human rights and liberties superior to the USSR.
The step from communism to capitalism is a big one, it's not as easy as saying "ok, we were oppressed, but tomorrow we'll be free", it doesn't work like that, Yeltsin screwed things up, yes, but he doesn't represent democracy and capitalism as a whole, far from it. |
Oh yeah, people ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 12:06:46 Oh yeah, people like Brezhnev, Stalin, Mao and Kim-Jong-Il are much better then that.
Could you seriously not think of anything better? |
Even if there is ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 11:59:50 Even if there is such a thing as 'western' brainwashing, people in the west have the right to go find out the truth on their own, and to make up their own mind, that, is a right that for example, a North-Korean doesn't have. |
That, is a purely ... By: somethingboring. on 03 Jul 09, 11:58:23 That, is a purely hypothetical theory based on your personal ideological beliefs. |
Also, I suggest ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:39:40 Also, I suggest what bspremium writes. His points are quite intelligent and support what I have been attempting to prove. I used direct evidence, yet he explains it in ways, that even one such as you will lack the difficulty to understand. |
Ah, but have you ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:37:10 Ah, but have you heard the proverb, "absolute power corrupts absolutely"? This has been demonstrated with the Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, the British Empire, it has been demonstrated throughout history. The current absolute power of the United States, corrupts it's virtues, and culture. For the fall of an empire begins from within, when the education becomes poor, and people ignore the faults of their country is a confirmation to this proverb.
In the end, the two systems can be equated. |
Oh, I have a ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:30:05 Oh, I have a guiding philosophy, integerity, and principles. I am simply a cynic, if you will, I question and observe and attempt to understand. Something, I recommend you do, it is quite healthy.
Therefore, hardly can I be called a pathetic hypocrite. |
If a person is ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:26:54 If a person is inclined to achieve greatness, and is inclined to work, he will achieve greatness regardless of the stimuli and environmental factors. For those who lust for greatness, greatness is the ultimate stimuli, no other is required.
Read my answer to foxx29, regarding Western Brainwashing. |
The fact that you ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:18:53 The fact that you state that there is smaller amounts of propaganda in America demonstrates your profound ignorance. For example, America is always portrayed to be an unbelievable ultra power, any other country on the news is portrayed to be inferior in terms of society, culture, etc, on the news, the history textbooks are rewritten to give America credit for a great deal, etc.
That is brainwashing, and the very same was done in the Soviet Union. Idiot. |
Regardless, the ... By: MercifulBoss. on 03 Jul 09, 02:14:19 Regardless, the people who have challenged me, challenged me on other topics than this.
I will explain again, the fall of the Soviet Union brought utter collapse in the country, in terms of infrastructure, society, economy, military, government and economics. When a country or nation falls, it is fairly difficult for the country to retain any of the business or economic infrastructure at peak efficiency, regardless of when various businesses were founded. |
A country either ... By: bspremium. on 03 Jul 09, 01:12:43 A country either controls its citizens through force, or propaganda. The propaganda in this country may not be obvious to its citizens, but it is quite obvious to those who have explored or lived alternative views. Propaganda is not only in what is discussed, but also in what is excluded from discussion. |

Not if you're married for 20 years because both of you will get bored eventually. Funny thing about human beings is they have a hard time being committed and constricted to another humans.

I agree to some extent. But remember, if its true love, nothing can stand in the way :D Sometimes, its just destiny, you know?

Sting has done a LOT of crap over the years but he almost redeems himslef completely with this. It's a classic dirge, bittersweet. Have you heard Eva Cassidy sing this? If that doesn't make you weep, you have no soul.
By: taiji8. on 02 Jul 09, 16:25:54
so true. now it's just funny

Nah it sounds like a perfectly legitimate theory.
By: typerdue. on 01 Jul 09, 16:42:09
it could just be me, but it sounds like the guy is alluding to the illucian fields, the resting grounds of heros in Ancient Roman belief. but those are supposed to be wheat if i'm not mistaken, but it is a kinda of heaven on earth kind of idea which would be ideal for a reunion with a long lost lover that seems to be a theme between the first "Fields of gold" incident where "she took her love" and the "many years have passed... you'll remember me when..." but someone tell me if i'm crazy or not.

I feel sorry for Canada, being joined at the hip to America. Imagine if they made Danny De Vito to everywhere with Brad Pitt.

I'n Canadian and regardless of what people from both of our country's may think of one another, we commoners best learn to freaking get along cause we're dependent on American maufacturing like their dependent on our hydro-electricity and natural resources. People like Leo who lash out are just so freaking ignorant that its disgracing for all of North America. Especially this generation with the need for "sustainability," it's all about cooperation. Grow up Leo!
By: ddrose06. on 30 Jun 09, 00:39:24
Thank you for being open-minded. I haven't heard back from Leo (the douche). I can't wait to ask him how he feels about France and Holland. I sent him a message, chock full of facts about Canada, that may have plunged him into deep thought, and possibly regret for opening his pie-hole without knowing what the hell he was talking about.
By: TheEricist. on 29 Jun 09, 22:26:51
I'm an American; and I'm embarrassed about the comment this douche just made about Canada.
By: ddrose06. on 29 Jun 09, 21:05:10
That's rich. Can you supply me with 1 verifiable reason why Canada would be nothing without "us." By the way, I'm sure that's the way China feels about "us." Go produce some weapons of mass destruction. That's the only thing you guys do well.
By: LMNT74. on 29 Jun 09, 18:24:10
Yet Canada would be nothing without us...except the pimple on our red white and blue asses. Go tap some syrup. You guys do that well.

In the world, america is 55th in literacy. It is 48th in infant mortality. Canada ranks much higher in both. Oh yeah, most Canadians can find their own country on a map, as opposed to most americans.

One of my favorite song!
By: Ruman87. on 29 Jun 09, 08:39:04
Yeah, it was super funny, and not because sting is bad singer, vice versa, he's the best, but with the other song, brand new day, it's really hard to understand what he says before "brand new day" ))
