The first time I had the pleasure of seeing ole Hank Jr. "live", was a few years before this clip. He's always been one of my favorites. Many people at the show back then, wanted him to just do his father's music. Hank Jr. did do a couple of his dad's hits, but stuck to doing his own music, and I was glad that he did.

Here Lorrie does one of the best Beach Boys songs ever. She is terrific on it, and is backed up by the Beach Boys doing the harmony. This is a cut from an album that had Country Stars doing Beach Boy songs. Lorrie recorded this on Feb. 27, 1996. Brian Wilson penned this super hit. Just one of many written by this talented California native.

Now here is my favorite. The Sheriff, Mr. Faron Young. Saw him and met him a few times. Great entertainer. There's a book out by Diane Diekman called The Faron Young Story-Live fast, Love hard. It's a must for Faron's fans, and for all country music fans for that matter. Faron recorded this for Mercury Records.

Three Jewish boys(Tompall, Jim, & Chuck) from small town in Spaulding Nebraska were not what you'd figure on to be country music stars, but that's what happened. I for one, couldn't get enough of them, and still can't. They were fantastic. Here they are with one of my favorites. It was written by Tompall, and they recorded it for MGM Records in 1972. Great harmony.
