PC noise test Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 431 seconds Tested noise levels of my box with the front cover open and closed. Note that for standard measurements, you should measure at 1 meter but I measured at a very close 5" because the meter doesnt read below 50db. Moving it to 1m would cause it to register below threshold for much of the testing... Related: computer, noise, spl |

Home stereo walkaround Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 118 seconds Taking a closer look at the stereo I've cobbled together over the years. Amp is a Threhsold SA3, Preamp is a Soundcraftsmen pro-control 3, DAC is an MSB, CD is a Yamaha and network player is a Squeezebox. The speakers at the moment are the modest but amazing Usher S520. I still have my older celestions though :) ... but they are not good enough anymore as my main set of speakers. Related: daclink, s520, soundcraftsmen, stereo, threshold, usher |

Mac computer temperatures - Response to Emeek77 Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 69 seconds Website that has a collection of Intel Mac temperatures. I found the average temps for the Mac Pros to be around 59C under CPU load which is close to 140F. Thats in line with most other PCs. Mac Pros have good cooling but nothing magical regardless of what anyone says. Proof is in the site. Related: mac, temperature |

My new subwoofers Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 122 seconds Finished building my subwoofers for my home stereo. Not designed to be boomy or loud. Just to blend with the main speakers and produce the missing bass thats below 40Hz. Can play down to and below 20Hz without much drama. 18Hz test tone came through just fine. I couldnt turn it up much because the floor of the room was flexing so it was kinda scary. LOL. Flip Video Ultra camera test Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 171 seconds Neat camera for a low price. Only a couple complaints. Colours are washed out somewhat when lighting is kind of low but its still crips without a lot of pixelation. Oh I have not found a way to edit any of the vids. Maybe vista64 and it are not getting along. This vid is totally unedited. Related: aquarium, flip, video |

Q6600 vs dual dualcore xeon 2.66Ghz - how do they stack up Posted by: svtcontour
Video duration: 128 seconds This is not a bash video or a challenge vid. Emeek posted a vid where he was running cinebench but without the timer visible. I stopwatched the event and tried the same to see how my Q6600 would stack up. Very similar results. Guess Cinebench is not very memory bandwidth intensive since the dual dualcore xeons should have more mem bandwidth. Related: 9.5, cinebench, q6600 |
